This is a lousy shot of a pale purple bead. The incandescent lamp overwhelmed the flash, thus the nasty yellow cast. In this case, the core is Czech "grape" from frozenfyre, and in a bead this small it's too pale to show off the CZ to best advantage. I think you want either an opaque core, or a very dark and rich transparent.
