Abstract Floral
This is one face of a green and white abstract floral sort of bead made by raking slices of Geo Stanford's concentric murrine canes. His canes look like little bull's eyes, with alternating concentric rings of transparent and opaque glass. This one was clear alternating with white. I embedded slices of it in clear pale green glass and then distorted them to get the weird shapes you see here.
An interesting thing about Geo's cane is that he deliberately pulled it at varying speed to make variations in thickness. This means you can slice it into "wedges", and if you push the wedges into the hot bead narrow end first, wide end outward, the mille seems to handle better and look more three dimensional.
