Bench Phase II
Side view of the interim bench, just after the Hot Head was replaced by the Minor Burner... what a blatant plug for Harbor Freight! Sorry about that; but those little cardboard boxes they sell, never mind the advertising, are very useful.
At this time I was storing everything in the main house -- glass, tools, mandrels, the works -- everything except the torch. I would have to carry it all out and set up to work, then at the end of the session put it all away again (in little cardboard boxes) and stow the boxes. This was because the roof on the porch was not in good shape, and it was rather dusty out there (and damp in wet weather). Since then things have improved. But at this time I needed lots of small cardboard boxes to keep everything organized.
The funny thing at the upper right, looking a bit like a fancy Rotring mechanical pencil, is a dental pick. In the tool rack nearest the camera: Smirchich tail stock holder, some tweezers, another dental tool, mandrels used as marble punties, and a pair of needlenose pliers, handles up.
The funny little things that look somewhat like drill bits are actually glass twisties.
