I drove myself nuts trying to photograph this bead. It's white MOP (mother-of-pearl) 104 glass encased in either alexandrite or palest lavender, I forget which. Or it might be tourmaline pink (sorry, I don't keep a lab notebook like serious glassworkers!) It's a nice effect, but doesn't show worth beans in a picture. You can see the pearlescent sheen of the MOP, but not the subtle colouring from the encasement.
