This is an equatorial view of the horrible raku marble. Actually, the raku effect is not in itself displeasing. If I'd been expecting it, I might have liked it. But the veining in the cream glass is nasty, and look how my bad raking discoloured and messed up the cream glass on its way through.

I think my worst raking habit is carelessly digging the rake in too deep. It messes up the colours by dragging the base glass colour up; the raking gets too wide as a big glob of glass builds up; and the trench left behind is a nuisance to flatten out again.

Don't trust Moretti opaque turquoise.
