tools and dichro

I bought two very interesting and luxurious things last month (Oct). One was a couple of sheets of patterned dichro from ProFusion. John Brauchi makes/sells this stuff and it is really quite fascinating. I got two half-sheets with patterns of running horses, and one full sheet with patterns of marine life. He also has florals and geometrics.

I also concluded a deal with Craig Milliron that started some time ago (this is not a knock at Craig, they've been busy at Arrow Springs and I did say there was no hurry at all). Craig and I had long discussions about micro-tools made of graphite, and eventually I sent him detailed specs for what I thought would be a useful set of tools. He made these, and I think they are really nifty. Now I just have to get time to use them and see how well they work for the purposes I imagined. I think Craig was contemplating adding such tools (not necessarily these exact designs) to the Arrow Springs product line, so if they seem appealing, you might drop him a line and let him know you are interested.

Tool Dimensions:

  • Cone .75in diam at the base, tapers to 0 over 1.75in.
  • Rod just a tad over .25in diam. 2 in long.
  • Triangle 1.5in on a side, equilateral, less than .25in thick
  • Mini marver pads 1.5in squ.
  • "anvil" block 2.5in long, started out .75 x .75, one face has been rounded smoothly (to a radius of .375 in, in theory).
