Here is a closer view of the luggage. Note the light birchwood deck which snaps onto the tops of the U-frames. It is an easy but firm fit, and stabilizes the whole assembly quite nicely. In this shot you can see (with a little attention) the three fastex-type buckles which attach the outer edge of the canvas sling to the upper edge of the U-frame. That's part of my Kryptonite U-Lock sticking up towards the rear.
