It's much harder to make a good transparent marble. Why? Well for one thing, everyone can see all the bubbles. Opaque glass hides a lot from public view.

This is a shroom marble made just like a shroom pendant. I want to pursue this design, but first I have to make a beautiful clear gather with no bubbles and no scum. Obviously the infamous Moretti clear will not do for this; I'm experimenting with Czech clear, and if that fails I will fall back to good old Moretti pale aqua.

The marbles I loved best as a kid were the transparent ones, and that's what I want to make now. What a pity they are about twice as hard to do right as an opaque marble.
