Is there anything you can't do with a plastic test tube rack? It makes a dandy stand for mandrels that have come out of the kiln in the morning (cold, of course) with beads (and messy bead release) on them. Kept upright, they shed fewer flakes of bead release. These are waiting to go into a soaking dish before having their beads wrenched off with pliers and cussing.
